Good Morning Friends,
Real excited about this weekend! Did Jesus go against the flow or get caught up in it? Think about it before you come up with an answer….bring it with you this weekend. See you on Sunday!

Good Morning Friends,
Yesterday we starting looking at this passage from James 1:
13 And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. 14 Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. 15 These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.
So let me ask you a question….where do evil desires come from? Are having these desires wrong? Can you get rid of such desires or will we always have them? Can you control these desires or change them for God’s desires? How would you do that?
Wrestle with those questions today. If you want to send me your thoughts, I would love to get them at Scott@freshstartchurch.com and I will give you mine in the AM. Have a great day.
Excited about Sunday! We are talking about going against the flow. What is the flow anyway? See ya Sunday!

Good Morning Friends,
James says:
13 And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. 14 Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. 15 These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.
Let’s look at a couple of things…..GOD DOES NOT TEMPT, but James tells us he does TEST US. So what is the difference between a test and temptation? It’s pretty simple. Temptation has as its end goal to lead you off the narrow path, to destroy you. The goal of a test is to build you up to prepare you for the future. However, both passing tests and avoiding temptation are accomplished the same way….the disciplined life. TRAIN YOURSELF TO BE GODLY….trying does not work!
Have a great day and we will talk tomorrow.
