Good deeds are not to empress people! Deeds are to point people to God. Unfortunately, many do good deeds for the express purpose of making ourselves feel better. Understand that doing good does make one feel good, but when that is the motivation (which usually is very subconscious I might add, and constantly denied), it is not a good deed. How can you check your motivation? Practice what we spoke of this past Sunday from Psalm 139….allow God to search your heart. Remember it is not a quick job, but a season that you give yourself to. The Psalmist says in Psalm 119:93:
93 I will never forget your commandments,
for by them you give me life.

This past weekend we spoke of allowing God to search your heart….(so, for example you discover you were unbelievably moody yesterday.) Now you have a choice, are you going to live life your way (well, circumstances justified my moodiness) or God’s way (I have learned to be content in WHATEVER situation I found myself). We will never know the difference if we do not know God’s Word. Reading his word and “embodying” it is critical to a life of purity/or Kingdom living. However, knowing what his word says is not the goal, “Embodying” it is! So, in the situation I mentioned above, you face your moodiness by admitting it and then seeking the forgiveness of those you hurt with it. Kingdom living is all about FREEDOM, but we will never be free without facing that which has bound us. Have a great day and we will talk in the AM.

Good Morning Friends,
Yesterday we spoke of Purity…..it is what God calls us to. He makes us purr and then asks us to walk in this purity. The writer to the Hebrews says:
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”- Hebrews 12:1
Yesterday we spoke of spending a season and allowing God to search your heart. When this happens, we will see things that we need to “throw off the sin that entangles us.” Be quick to rid yourself of these things, they keep you from the life God has secured for you! I am praying for you today, you are the apple of God’s eye. He is crazy about you!
