Matthew 5:8:br>br>

Anyone want to see God? Then allow him as we mentioned yesterday to purify your heart. It may be tough….but the “fire” of life is not checking your strength……but it is producing God’s purity in you!br>br>
Speaking of seeing God…we have a Great weekend planned at FreshStart. I hope you can join us Sunday Morning….it is going to be AWESOME!!!!!! TODAY’S READING:
Matthew 5:8a
“God blesses those whose hearts are pure…..”
Pure gold is very soft and pliable. Gold becomes hard because of all the impurities in it. Pure gold means 100% gold with no impurities. Spiritual purity is a heart that is 100% tuned into God with no impurities. Is that possible? Many would say no but I would tend to disagree (though I have not arrived at that point yet)
To purify gold it is sent through the fire. The impurities are burnt out. To purify our hearts God sends us through fiery situations in our lives. The problem is that we try to avoid these situations and get them over as fast as we can.
Have you ever bought a Pizza that has come out of the fire to early? It is disgusting. Gold that is not purified can not be formed into a ring or coin. An impure heart can not be molded by God. So let me ask you…Are you finding your self in the middle of a real tough time? REJOICE….DON”T AVOID IT….AND DON’T SPEED IT UP….God is purifying your heart!

TODAY”S READING:
Matthew 5:7 – God Blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy
Ok this one is hard to write on today, for God is working overtime in my life on this one. May I confess….I am a person who likes to be right I also like things to be done right so when my eggs are to be scrambled and the waitress brings them to me over-easy…..well mercy is not always my natural reaction…YET!
I say yet because God is working that out in my life. The problem with God’s working is that he brings a lot of opportunities in my life for me to be merciful which gives me a lot of chances to fail. But, when I do, I need to recognize it, ask for forgiveness from God and those I may have hurt, and start again. I have seen God doing great things in my life as far as mercy goes….but Lord keep working, we have a long way to go.
Scott
PS I want to thank each for you for your patience with God and I as he works out Mercy in my life. Thanks
