24When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord commanded. He brought Mary home to be his wife,

God speaks to all of us! I talked to a man yesterday who let me know of a dream he had that God used to speak to him. How does God speak to you? Some people say he does not speak to him…but I wonder if he does but they have not followed the pattern that Joseph followed here. When Joseph heard God…HE GOT UP AND DID WHAT HE SAID TO DO. God’s voice is heard for us to follow! Don’t miss the point of God’s voice. Just some thoughts to wrestle with.

Today’s Readings: Deuteronomy 25, Psalm 116, Isaiah 52, Revelation 22

12″Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.

I have made it a practice for a long time to read the scripture each day until I have something to chew on or “wrestle with” for the day. Well, with this verse a number of questions to wrestle with arise. What is the reward that Jesus will have with him? And, do we get it according to what we have done? It might be easy to fall into some thoughts of works righteousness with this passage….but remember our salvation was won when Jesus defeated death on the cross…so, NOW IT DOES MATTER HOW WE LIVE;however, to strive to live like Jesus without Jesus is frustrating and impossible,,,,,but, to die and allow Jesus to grow in and live through you is the only way!

I want to encourage you for the next 40 days to enter with me into a period of introspection….Allow God to search our heart….listen and act on the basis of what you hear! Have a great day!

2And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a beautiful bride prepared for her husband.

Hey, I have a thought…check it out, and I’d love to hear from you on it. I think one of the things that the Evangelical Church has missed is that we ought to be more interested in bringing “heaven to earth” than to leaving earth to get to heaven. Was this not the teaching of Jesus in the Lord’s prayer…”on earth as it is in heaven” ! So here is my thought….Is this the reason for the image of a Holy City coming to earth?
