Today’s FreshBread – October 31
Today’s Reading is: Leviticus 5, Psalm 3-4, Proverbs 20, and Colossians 2
Today’s Key Verse: Psalm 3:3-4
But you, O LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts my head high. I cried out to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy mountain.
I love Psalm 3! Whenever I feel down and that the “enemies” of this world are beating me down, I read Psalm 3. To know that God not only hears me and answers me…but He lifts my discouraged hung head so I can see what He is about to do. WE HAVE A GREAT GOD! Call on Him….LIVE IN THE ZONE….of His blessing and expect Him to do great things! Have a great day and we will talk to you all in the AM!

Today’s FreshBread – October 29
Today’s Reading Leviticus 2&3, Proverbs 18, John 21, and Colossians 1
Today’s Key Verse: John 21:3a
“Simon Peter said, “I’m going fishing!”
Things did not turn out the way that Peter thought. Jesus was put to death, it was over…or so Peter thought. But he did not realize that God’s agenda is not dependent upon things working out the way we think is best! God had more He planned to do, He had a bigger picture…But Peter was giving up and going back to what he was doing before Jesus called him!
Do you tend to give up when God does not work things out the way you think they should be? God might have a different time frame and schedule. We need to keep our faith in God not in what God does….because it might not work out the way that we think it should. Are you close to giving up on God in some regard? Hang on He is still working!
Can’t wait to see you at church in the AM…Don’t forget to set your clocks back 1 hour! Have a great day! See you at Freshstart!

Today’s FreshBread – October 28
A WORD ABOUT YESTERDAY:
Yesterday the passage from Philippians was talking about Legalism…(gaining God’s favor by what we do). This is a very serious problem in the church. Today legalist reject the need to follow the Old Testament laws, but have come up with a new set of guidelines and rules to follow to gain God’s favor. Paul is reminding us that God’s favor and salvation comes through NOTHING we do but only because of the grace of GOD! NOW THAT IS GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today’s Reading is: Leviticus 1, Proverbs 17, John 20, and Philippians 4
Today’s Key Verse: Proverbs 17:3
Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but the Lord tests the heart!
There is a lot of fake jewelry out there, but it looks real nice. I even have some…..it is cheap, it doesn’t take much of an investment and I do not have to worry about losing it. However, if you put it through the fire it would be GONE! Solomon is letting us know that there is a way to make ourselves look real on the outside. It is easy, it does not take much of an investment, and if you lose your “cover” well you just start over right?
However, the passage is reminding us that God is not interested in the outside, but tests the heart. We can fake out others and even ourselves but God sees the truth.
For many people this might seem scary! But if you had something wrong inside your body, wouldn’t you want a doctor that could see the truth? God sees the truth not to tell you are bad, but God wants to show you the truth so that you can LIVE! THIS IS GREAT NEWS!
Speaking of great news, I look forward to seeing you this weekend as we start to discover what “the list on the cabinet” contains. Don’t miss it…I’ll talk to you in the morning!
