Today’s FreshBread – June 30
Today’s Reading is Matthew 26:69-79
None of us probably feel that we would ever deny Jesus…..neither did Peter. He lived with Jesus, walked with Jesus and loved Jesus. But pushed against the wall in the face of death, Peter disowned the Lord. Let me give you a couple of things to ponder today.
First of all, how do you handle direct questions about Church or your faith? Do you see it as an opportunity to share the hope you have in you (1 Peter 3:15), or do you seemingly push it off as, “Oh yeah church, I go but it’s not a real big deal.”
God gives us opportunities regularly that He is counting on us to take (sharing the truth in Love), as this is the reason He has brought the person across our path! How do you handle those times?
Secondly (and little beyond your thoughts maybe), I am not sure America is going to last forever as we have always acted like it would. There is so much greed and tension in this country. As we destroy ourselves from the inside out there are people in America, waiting to take over and these people will NOT be compassionate about the freedom of religion. So what would you do in that kind of society where following Jesus was illegal? Take a bold stand or hide in fear for your life…. Proclaim or Deny?
When I played on my Dad’s little league team I always heard him say, “What you do in practice you do in a game.” This my friends is practice… When it comes to standing for Jesus, the game is still to come! Just some thoughts! Have a great day!

Today’s FreshBread – June 29
Today’s Reading is Matthew 26:65-68
If there was ever a question that Jesus claimed to be God it is answered in these few verses. The Jewish leaders knew exactly what Jesus was saying. It was called blasphemy and the violence against Him began.
Today, most people are fine with Jesus, until it is pointed out that as God He is the Lord of our life. He not only has control but also orders our life. Surrendering everything to Him is not the natural thing to do it is the only thing today. In our culture all is fine as long as we can ask God to help us, but when we are called upon to recognize that He is Lord, “Master of our Life,” that’s when the resistance begins…Just some thoughts to ponder!

Jesus remained silent………
One thought for today…Whenever there is a conflict, the person who speaks the most is usually not right!
