Today’s FreshBread – May 23

Today’s Reading is Matthew 24:43-51

So what do you do while you are waiting for His return? Waiting does not mean we are left without a purpose. We must focus on surrendering and allowing Christ to flow out of us through the attitude and actions of a servant. There is warning here from Jesus for those of us who claim to be His followers and are found wasting time living in an unfocused manner waiting for His return. How are you spending your day? Are you willing to allow God to use you today?

Today’s Reading is Matthew 24:36-44

Thousands of hours have been spent trying to figure out if the World is coming to and end, and if so when is this going to happen? Books have been written, lectures given, people are fascinated by discussions about the end of the World. But, Jesus teaches us that not even the Angels in heaven know when this is going to happen, only God the Father. He reminds us that we should give our energy not to figure out something we can’t but to being ready for the return of Jesus. If He came tonight would that be OK or would you see it as a bummer? Are you ready? Those are some important thoughts to ponder!

Today’s Reading is Matthew 24:32

So what did Jesus mean by the statement that, “this Generation will not pass away until these things are accomplished”? Was this a mistake or did He have a purpose in mind. I’d love to hear from you on that this weekend. Write to me at: Scott@freshstartchurch.com
