Today’s FreshBread – Feb. 28
Ever wonder about Jesus tone? In this passage Jesus seems to leave his calm gentile spirit and get a little ticked off. WHY….becasue the disciples did not have enough faith? This seemed to make Jesus upset on a number of occasions. Weren’t the disciples growing in faith? In that questions lies the problem.
Faith is NOT something that you muster up….faith is a gift of God! Your faith grows not when you do more, but when you exercise the faith that God has given you. When we fail to exercise that faith, faith dies. The disciples faces a situation that they passed on an opportunity. Jesus attitude seemed to be….JUST DO IT! I have given you the faith now us it!
How do you walk through life….by sight or by faith! Is your faith challenged and stretched everyday or are you trying to get to the point of having everything made perfectly clear. Maybe all we need is a clearer picture of Jesus and not of what’s happening around us…..let’s leave that in God’s hands and walk by faith today!
Have a great day!

Today’s FreshBread – Feb. 27
Today’s Reading is Matthew 17:1-8
This would have been a cool thing to witness. WOW, that had to be a memory that does not wear off. The point I want us to look at today is this… Peter wanted to build a tent on the mountain and he wanted to stay there, but Jesus did not allow that because He knew that mountain top experiences are for one reason only: to prepare us for the valley.
Life is lived in the valleys! People that need to know the love of God are stuck in the valley. Many of us seek mountain top experiences and get depressed when they wear off but God wants us to take the power of the mountain top into the valley.
We have some ladies from our church that have just returned from a mountain top weekend retreat…. Let’s pray that they are able to bring that message this week powerfully into the valley!
How are you doing at bringing the message into the valley? Now that is a thought to ponder…
Have a great day!

Today’s FreshBread – Feb. 26
Today’s Reading is Matthew 16:28
This verse might get confusing. Was Jesus saying that some of these guys would be alive for His return? No….even though they believed they would be. In fact every generation of followers of Christ have believed that. I would say that we are living in the last days and the return of Jesus will come in our lifetime (but I have no idea when He will return) the signs are there. However, in these words Jesus is telling the Disciples that they will witness the ushering in of the Kingdom of God by Jesus. When He came to earth, died and rose again Jesus brought the Kingdom of God here on earth!
Let me mention one other thing… When we read the scripture and stumble on something that does not make sense it is important to seek out its meaning so the Holy Spirit can begin putting together the big picture for us. If you have a question that stumps you as you read, write it down, seek the answer from someone who can teach you, show you, and help you understand.
Have a Great day! Looking forward to seeing you at Church in the morning!
