Today’s Reading is Proverbs 16-18

Here are the verses I will meditating on today!

15:2 – People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives.

15:9 – We make our plans but the Lord determines our steps!

15:33 – We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall.

17:3 – Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but the Lord tests the heart.

18:2 – Fools have no interest in understanding, they only want to air their own opinions.

18:22 – The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and receives favor from the Lord!

Think on these things. Have a great day!

Today’s Reading is Proverbs 13-15

So here are the Proverbs that jumped out at me today:

13:3 – He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.

13:11 – Dishonest money dwindles away; but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow.

13:24 – He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.

14:17 A quick tempered man does foolish things and a crafty man is hated.

15:1 – A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

15:22 – Plans fail for lack of counsel but with many advisers they succeed.

15:33 – The Fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom and humility comes before honor.

Let the Lord lead you in thinking on high things. Have a great day!

Today’s Reading is Proverbs 10-12

As we read through the book of Proverbs, it might seem like an unconnected group of wise sayings. However as you step back just a little bit from the reading you will see themes running through the chapters. Solomon understands that our best memory and ingestion takes place with repetition so reoccurring themes will be evident. I want to encourage you to read the reading for each day and allow God to point out a Proverb or two that you can meditate on (think and mentally chew on) that day. I will list a couple that hit me in that way!

In today’s reading this is what God gave me to think about:

11:24 – It is possible to give freely and become more wealthy, but those who are stingy will loose everything.

12:1 – To learn you must love discipline it is stupid to hate correction.

12:19 – Truth stand the test of time, lies are soon exposed.

Finally there are a couple of definitions to keep in mind when you are reading through proverbs:

The word Fool denotes one who is morally deficient. People that are described as simple refer to those without moral direction and inclined to Evil. Those people that are called Evil mean folks who have chosen their own path of life and ignore God’s way!

Share with your spouse, children, or a friend the Proverbs that stand out to you from today’s reading and why?

Have a great day!
