Today’s Reading is Judges 1-2
Today we start the book of Judges. Israel has now entered the Promise Land, but they do anything but live out the promise. A tremendous cycle of sin and repentance happens over and over in this book. We will see the people walk away from God and sin, then their enemies will overrun them. At that point they call out to God and He sends a prophet to save them. As you read this book you will see that many of us today have experienced this pattern of sin. One other thing to keep in mind, some people say that the Bible was made up and that it is not really true. Well, if I were going to make up a book about my history, I would not add this book. This kind of book proves the honesty of the writers and the scriptures.
One more thought… This sinful cycle was started by another generation. This generation turned away from God. WHY? Well, every generation is dependent on the previous one to understand faith. You see today we stand one generation away from extinction. As parents, and Christ Followers we must teach and live a life after Jesus!
Have a great day!

Today’s Reading is Joshua 22-24
Knowing about God and believing in God, is very different from serving Him with your life. I want to encourage you to read Joshua’s Challenge to the people very carefully today. The same challenge might be given to us. Today the other gods that we serve are not from other faiths as much as the “god of” relationships, money, work, car, sex, etc. Take the challenge to heart! Have a great day with Jesus!

Today’s Reading Joshua 19-21
Well, as you read through this passage, hang in there. If you stop by the Welcome Center this weekend we will have a map you can pick up that helps you locate these places.
The main thing that I want you to see is the end of Chapter 21. In verses 43-45 we see that God fulfilled every one of His promises. Some of these He had made over 40 years ago and some a lot longer then that. God is always faithful. We look for God to fulfill His promises right away but timing is everything in God’s plan. Sometimes He allows time to pass because there are important things to learn or experience that only time will accomplish. Never give up on God….He will come through! He always keeps His promises!
