Today’s FreshBread – Dec. 30
Today’s Reading is Matthew 9:27-31
Have you ever know anyone that is blind. To my amazement the blind people that I know have learned to live with their handicap. In fact they do not even seem to be missing any part of life and many times seem more in tune with the World around them.
This is not true with Spiritual Blindness though. When we live spiritually blind, many times we do not even know we have the disease. Spiritual blindness keeps us on the “first floor” of life and never allows us to see anything except the World’s perspective on things. Many times this creates problems that we cannot trace the cause of. I have watched many people make decisions on relationships, finances, and other life issues from this Spiritual Blindness…it is always a tragedy.
As we read this morning Jesus wants to help you see. He question however is two fold….do we desire to see the way God does….This means first of all we have to admit we are blind. This is tough….sometimes even those of us who are attending church each week have been blinded by legalism, arrogance, and judgementalism…Is it possible that Jesus might need to touch your eyes so you have 20/20 spiritual vision. He wants to you know! We need to seek God daily asking him to remove any scales from our eyes that we might see what he sees and allow him to lead us to act with this Vision! The New Year is a Great time for this!
Have a Great day!

PS I am praying for you this Holiday Weekend….You have a great opportunity to bring God glory!
Today’s FreshBread – Dec. 29
Today’s Reading is Matthew 9:18-26
The power of Jesus is an unbelievable gift to us. Many times we read stories like this and look at them with “Fairy Tales” status because we could never believe something like this might happen in our world. For this reason I believe that many times, we fail to bring to the Lord our burdens and needs, feeling like we are on our own.
What is it in your life this morning that is a burden beyond your strength, or ability to do anything about? Why not seek out Jesus like this synagogue official or lady who was bleeding? Jesus has the power to heal this situation in your life…seek Him…reach out to Him today!
Have a great day and I hope to see you at church tonight!

Today’s FreshBread – Dec. 28
Today’s Reading is Matthew 9:14-17
As Jesus was asked about fasting He gives a most interesting example! You can’t store new wine in old wine skins! What is new wine? What are old wine skins? In many books these questions have been answered quickly, but I think they deserve some thought and contemplation.
When you leave these verses in the context of the chapters we quickly see that Jesus is teaching in the midst of some very religious men. Scribes and Pharisees are men of great tradition. Not that tradition is bad in and of itself but this tradition was used to control people and ultimately to keep God in a box. Jesus is confronting their whole way of thinking and approaching Life and God! God did not enter the world to make rules that people would have to follow to meet Him; Jesus is saying that God entered the World to find lost people! Jesus reached out with mercy and love, forgetting the rules! Many people were trying to understand what Jesus was saying in light of their religious understanding from the Pharisees. Jesus is saying this way of life is NEW WINE…..it will not be held by these OLD WINE SKINS!
When it comes to your faith is it “new” every morning? Is it a Fresh Encounter with God each day? Or is the same old, same old……if so this is NOT what Jesus came to bring you! Jesus wants us to experience new wine! My prayer is that each of us would experience this new wine everyday! I hope you can join us this Sunday Morning as we talk about this issue together! This can be a great year if we keep tasting new wine!
